HOW IT ALL BEGAN

A Story of Survival, Inspiration & Redemption

Cornell Bunting was not born into ease. He was forged in fire.

Born in Jamaica with a lifelong love of words — discovered through the 19th-century poetry of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow — Cornell arrived in America carrying a gift and a calling. By the time he was a young man, he was writing scripts for plays, stepping into leadership, and earning praise for a voice that was entirely his own.

Then, in 2013, everything changed.

Cornell was the CEO of a successful security firm when he was framed for a crime he did not commit. Sixteen charges — conspiracy, extortion, kidnapping, and possible murder. Facing 32 years to life in prison, he was stripped of his freedom, his finances, and nearly everything he had built. He spent ten months in maximum security jail and two more years fighting for his name, losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and shattered contracts along the way.

"The lion was in a cage. But the roar was still inside him."

Inside those walls, Cornell did not break. He wrote. He authored four books behind bars — because he understood something that his circumstances could not touch: his story was not over. His words were still his own. And the truth, eventually, would speak for itself.

On the third day of his trial in October 2015, the key witness took the stand — and admitted that he had helped fabricate the entire story against Cornell. The case collapsed. Cornell Bunting walked free. His record was expunged. The lion found his roar.

But the story was not finished.

In 2016, while attending Next Level Church in Fort Myers, Florida, Cornell went into sudden cardiac arrest. Medical experts on the scene confirmed what more than 5,000 witnesses saw: Cornell Bunting died for 16 minutes.

Then he came back.

A new journey was born that day — one built on the unshakeable conviction that when God gives you back your breath, you do not waste a single word of the story you still have left to tell.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

We built the tools we wish we had.

EHAS Inc. — Everyone Has a Story — was not founded in a boardroom. It was founded in a jail cell, in a hospital room, and in the quiet moments between chapters when Cornell asked himself the question that changes everything:

"If my story could nearly destroy me and I still survived — what could it do for someone else?"

We know what it feels like to search for something more — more clarity, more purpose, more proof that the life you are living is not the final word on who you are. We have been in the valley. We have stared down 32 years to life. We have been on the wrong side of a flatline.

And we came back to tell you: your story is not over either.

Cornlegus — the brand, the movement, the community — exists for the adults who are in the middle of their own hard chapter. The ones who are rebuilding. Reimagining. Refusing to let their worst moment be their last word. Every product we offer — from the apparel you wear to the journals you write in to the affirmation cards you carry — is designed with one goal:

To help you write the next chapter of your story — on your own terms.

OUR PROMISE TO YOU

We are not just selling products.

We are investing in your journey.

When you choose Cornlegus, you are joining a community of people who have looked at their own stories — the beautiful parts and the broken ones — and chosen to keep going. People who believe that growth is always possible, no matter where you are starting from or what chapter you are currently living through.

And because we are a mission-driven brand, a portion of every purchase supports EHAS Inc., our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization — empowering underserved youth through mentorship and storytelling. Because the next Cornell Bunting is out there right now, writing their story in the margins of whatever life has handed them. We intend to find them.

"Everyone Has a Story. What's yours?"
